The Best Team Outside The Eight

Hi Grant, Just love the Marngrook Footy Show. Its simply the best Aussie Rules football program, with up to date information presented in a light and comical format. In last night's show, Thorpie made a strong point that the best team outside the final eight, was the team in ninth spot. Some of you argued that other teams had more potential, or had injuries thru the year. Take a good hard look at North Melboune! They have an abundance of potential - not just two or three past low draft picks. Ziebell, Adams, Cunnington, Hansen, Lower, to name a few. North had eight of their best 22 out at one stage this year - including Wells, Ziebell, Grima, etc. We won our ninth spot, and underestimate us in 2011 at your peril.

Love the Marngrook Footy Show. Is there any chance of having Barry Cable as a guest? Mike Sheehan was correct in naming him best indigenous player ever, and not only indigenous, but he is BEST player I have seen in over 50 years of watching VFL/AFL. I also had the great fortune of watching him winning Sandover medals and premierships in Perth. I'm not biased as I am neither a North Melbourne supporter, nor am I indigenous. Panel, In general play, a player has some 10 - 15 seconds to dispose of the footy before the umpire calls "play on". However, when a player has a shot at the sticks, he has much more than this time, and in many instances, after the 15 or 20 seconds elapses, he passes of to a team-mate. I don't believe this is acceptable to accord a mark. In the spirit of the game, should such a move be deemed "play on" (not a mark). What does the panel think?.

But the marngrook footy show is different without Ronny Burrns i heard Grant say he was in hospital if he is hope he is ok, would like to know if it was serious or a minor injury get well Ronny.... Hello Guys,great Show.All this fuss about soreness has me confused.I don't know why clubs dont just say rested.I mean putting'rested' has got benefits.One is the club is telling the truth.The other benefit would be rested has only 6 letters and soreness has 8.Extra rest.Drew I am a mad Hawk.I think Clinton Young is very underrated.If he's not injured why isn't he playing? hi there guys. with new teams entering the AFL are there any sleepers like Michael Barlow playing in the vfl who could make an immediate impact in the Afl. I remember the days when players were recruited from the old VFA { like you Alan} and went on to be more than useful AFL players. I seem to recall Terry Wheeler recruiting some players from Williamstown like Danny Del Ray as well as Simon Verbeek from Oakleigh playing for Carlton and making an immediate impact. Your thoughts guys?
