Record-breaking Cats celebrate flag unfurling in style
Geelong slammed on an extraordinary 11.7 to 1.0 in the third quarter to deliver a knock-out punch to Port Adelaide at Skilled Stadium.
It equalled the side's best third quarter effort in its rich history as the Cats romped home by 95 points (after leading by 10 points at half-time).
It was an unforgettable day for Geelong, who unfurled its 2009 premiership flag before the game.
Steve Johnson booted six goals and second-gamer James Podsiadly five.
Gary Ablett gathered 37 possessions and kicked three goals andcould be on his way to back-to-back Brownlow Medal wins.
Joel Corey finished with 37 possessions.
Kane Cornes and Danyle Pearce tried hard for the Power.
Geelong had 44 scoring shots to 14.
Finals scores: Geelong 23.21 (159) to Port Adelaide 10.4 (64).
