Adelaide champ Andrew McLeod is an absolute great of the game

Adelaide champion Andrew McLeod is due to play his 333rd game as the Crows do battle with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium this Friday night.

This will take the silky-skilled two-time premiership player (and two-time Norm Smith Medal winner) into the top 15 list of games played in VFL/AFL history.

The list is headed by Hawthorn legend and seven-time premiership player Michael Tuck with 426 games.

Then followss Kevin Bartlett (403 games for Richmond), Robert Harvey (383 games for St Kilda), Simon Madden (378 games for Essendon), Craig Bradley (375 games for Carlton, Bernie Quinlan (366 games for Footscray and Fitzroy), John Blakey (359 games for Fitzroy and North Melbourne), Bruce Doull (356 games for Carlton), Paul Roos (356 games for Fitzroy and the Sydney Swans), Doug Hawkins (350 games for Footscray and Fitzroy), current star Brad Johnson (350 games for the Western Bulldogs), Chris Grant (341 games for the Western Bulldogs), John Rantall (336 games for South Melbourne, North Melbourne and Fitzroy), David Cloke (333 games for Richmond and Collingwood) and Kevin Murray (333 games for Fitzroy).

McLeod is an inspirational figure for the indigenous community around Australia.

He has been a terrific role model from the moment he pulled on the boots for the Crows.

A big game specialist, McLeod's crowning glory has been playing superbly in Adelaide's 1997 and '98 premierships.

Meanwhile, Fremantle's star utility David Mundy is due to play his 113th consecutive match in the clash against Richmond at Subiaco Oval this Sunday since his debut in round six, 2005.

Munday will equal the fourth-best streak from debut by any player in the game’s history. The best streaks from debut are Jared Crouch (194 games for the Sydney Swans from 1998 and 2006), John Murphy (158 games for Fitzroy from 1967 and '74), Dick Taylor (127 games for Melbourne from 1922-29) and Steven Wallis (113 games for Footscray from 1983-87).

Essendon's Andrew Welsh plays his 150th game in the Anzac Day blockbuster against Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday.

Richmond's Richard Tambling will play his 100t'yh game.

Fremantle's Paul Duffield, West Coast's Josh Kennedy and Brisbane's Mitch Clark will play their 50th games.
