"Gilly" isn't silly as he regains lead in Marngrook Footy Show's AFL tipping comp.

Gilbert "Gilly" McAdam has reclaimed the outright lead once again in the Marngrook Footy Show's much-anticipated AFL tipping competition.

"Gilly" tipped superbly - finishing with five winners - in an extremely tough round for the tipsters.

The pressure was on "Gilly" to perform after Marngrook Footy Show host Grant Hansen drew level after the 16th round.

Grant managed just three winners in round 17.

"Gilly" made his move by tipping Carlton to beat West Coast at Subiaco on Saturday night and Melbourne to beat Sydney at the MCG on Sunday.

"Gilly" has moved to 91 tips with Grant on 89.

Ronnie Burns rocketed into outright third position on 88 after tipping five winners.

Leila Gurruwiwi and Alan Thorpe are level on 87 tips with Shelley Ware on 83.
