Wonderful new footy book pays tribute to the champions of the game through the decades ... V / AFL Teams of the Century: The definitive guide to the legends of Australian Rules Football. Author Julio Estorninho is to be congratulated

Collingwood devotee Julio Estorninho has come up trumps with his fascinating new footy book.

He pays tribute to the champions of the game in V / AFL Teams of the Century: The definitive guide to the legends of Australian Rules Football.

It is certain to prove an excellent reference guide to all footy fans.

The beautifully produced book features plenty of colour (and some black and white) footy cards of champs like "Mr Football" Ted Whitten Senior, Darrel Bladock, Kevin Neale, Kevin Bartlett, Adam Goodes, Brent Crosswell and Kevin Murray.

There's also rare colour photographs from the old Sporting Life (Gallery of Stars) of Essendon's triple Brownlow Medal winner Dick Reynolds.

Julio has painstakingly delved into the entire careers of the star footballers selected in team of the century line-ups, starting with their junior clubs and even the clubs they  played for after finishing their V / AFL careers.

For instance, Footscray and Collingwood champ of the 1960s and '70s George Bisset got his start at Braybrook in the Footscray District Football League and later spent a season with Yarraville in the Victorian Football Association.

Julio lists the team of the century line-ups of Adelaide (starts page 11), Brisbane (page 21), Carlton (page 29), Collingwood (page 41), Essendon (page 53), Fitzroy (page 65), Footscray/Western Bulldogs (page 75), Geelong (page 85), Hawthorn (page 95), Melbourne (page 107), North Melbourne (page 117), Richmond (page 129), South Melbourne/Sydney (page 139), St Kilda (page 151), University (page 161), West Coast (page 167), Indigenous (page 175) and VFL/AFL (page 187).

As a special bonus, Julio has listed the star-studded Indigenous Team of the Century.

This fabulous book is available from Santo's famous Melbourne Sports Books store in Flinders Street in the City and from Readings in Carlton and Brunswick Bound.

As Ian "Molly" Meldrum would say, do yourselves a favour and take a walk down memory lane by buying a copy of Julio's book.

Julio ended his introduction in the book with the following sentence.

"This has been a labour of love on my part - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do."
